As the article said,BoC (Platinum)rebates at 0.5%(or $100 supermarket coupon for $20,000 spending).This applies equally to:
- retail purchases
- internet purchases
- online bill payments
- Octopus recharges
DBS only earns the $2=$250 (or 0.8%)cash rebate for retail and internet purchases,***NOT online bill payments or Octopus recharges***

3 Rewards
(a)Cardholders can earn HK$2 cash rebates for every HK$250 local retail spending or 2 bonus points for every HK$1 local retail spending with the Card (except spending listed in clause 4).

Apple is totally biased towards DBS.Its Table 1 mentions DBS can earn points for Octopus and Internet purchases,yet fails to mention they do not earn cash rebate at the same rate as retail and internet purchases.
However,Apple was more careful in respect of Wing Lung - noting the differentiated rebate rates - someone who obviously had not "bought"Apple's favour in terms of ad revenue/茶錢.
