[資訊分享] DBS Platinum downgrade to 15pts/mile w.e.f.1 Nov 10

(DBS Black remains unchanged at 12pts/mile)

I called DBS CS this afternoon to ask about the Eminent card,which is a promotion I read about in other forums.

During the conversation the CS I spoke to mentioned "a change in November".I immediately feared the worst and drilled her on that point.

It turns DBS Platinum points will be devaluated from 12 points/mile to 15 points per mile w.e.f.1 Nov 10.The last day to change points using the old rate is 31 Oct 10.The 3X stays,so the post-1 Nov 10 earn rate is $5/mile.

No changes to the DBS Black Card conversion rate.It remains at 12 points/mile,and given the DBS Black earns 2X on retail and autopay the earn rate remains $6/mile.

# Effective from 1 November 2010,the flying miles redemption of Asia Miles and KrisFlyer will be changed to every 15-bonus point is redeemable for 1 mile,and a handling fee of HK$50 will be charged for every 5,000 Asia Miles/KrisFlyer Miles redeemed (Redemption of 5,000 miles or less,or its multiples will be charged at HK$50 or its multiples).The maximum charge per redemption is HK$300.The handling fee will be debited from cardholder’s credit card account.

The following statements appear on the end of my DBS Platinum credit card bill which has just been made available on ec-banking:

Very commendable for DBS to be so up-front about notice.

Too bad I'm still going to drop it in favour of Shacomm Po Leung Kuk Titanium for accumulating miles from dining spending.
